China's National Bureau of Statistics said the economy in 1H ran within a
reasonable range and new productive forces have expanded, but external
uncertainty is substantial and a pronounced supply-strong, demand-weak imbalance
means the recovery base needs consolidation. The NBS called for stepped-up
counter‑cyclical and cross‑cycle policy adjustment, measures to expand domestic
demand and optimize supply, actions to boost new investment and reactivate
existing assets, and intensified support to stabilise employment, firms, markets
and expectations to deliver qualitative improvement and reasonable growth.
