Refinitiv reported President Trump is expected on Wednesday to urge top U.S.
defense contractors to accelerate weapons production and expand manufacturing
capacity as stocks are strained by the Ukraine and Middle East conflicts. He
will attend the closing roundtable of a two-day Defense and Innovation Summit at
the U.S. Army War College in Pennsylvania, which brings together senior military
leaders, defense contractors, investors and tech executives to discuss
strengthening the U.S. industrial base and speeding delivery of advanced weapons
systems. Prolonged conflicts have depleted large quantities of missiles,
interceptors and other munitions and exposed U.S. production and supply-chain
bottlenecks. Trump is expected to announce multiple defense investment plans in
Pennsylvania.
