At 15:39 on July 15 Shanghai grid peak load reached 42.216 million kW (42.216
GW), up 57,000 kW from last year’s high of 42.159 million kW, a record.
Air-conditioning cooling demand is estimated to account for about 44% of total
load. This was the fifth high-temperature day this year and the second time this
week the city’s load exceeded 40 million kW.
