A joint team led by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with University of Science and Technology of China and others performed rare-gas isotope analysis on Chang'e-6 lunar regolith samples and found systematic differences in solar-wind exposure between the Moon's near and far sides, with Earth's magnetosphere acting as a regulator. The study was published July 15 in Nature Geoscience.
