ECB Governing Council member and Bank of Italy governor Panetta said on Wednesday that, despite geopolitical uncertainty, ECB policy must remain prudent to ensure inflation expectations stay anchored. He said the Governing Council will closely assess energy market conditions alongside the economic outlook, wage developments and goods and services price trends when weighing future decisions, aiming to anchor inflation expectations and limit indirect and second‑round effects from shocks.

CNBC reported Wednesday that Warren Buffett said he personally initiated Berkshire Hathaway’s large investment in Alphabet. Berkshire first disclosed the position in Q3 2025 and has since materially increased it, including a $10 billion private share purchase last month.
