China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) completed 298 antitrust reviews of operator concentrations in H1, granting 283 unconditional approvals. By industry, manufacturing accounted for 105 cases (37.1%), the most active sector; other sector counts: utilities (water, power, gas, heat) 32, transportation 25, financial services 22, real estate 21, wholesale and retail 17. Within manufacturing, chemical raw materials & chemical products and automobile manufacturing led with 17 cases each (about 16.2% of manufacturing); other notable manufacturing categories included electrical machinery and equipment, rubber and plastics, computer/communications & other electronic equipment, petroleum/coal & other fuel processing, and general equipment manufacturing.
