China Mobile, China Eastern Airlines, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) and ZTE signed a four-party 5G air-to-ground (5G-ATG) cooperation agreement in Shanghai. The partners will integrate passenger air travel with 5G-ATG communications, edge/AI computing and large-model AI technologies and accelerate upgrading aviation internet from basic onboard connectivity toward higher speeds, broader service coverage, smarter operations and greater industry autonomy.
