Despite sharp falls in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares, retail investors heavily bought 2x single-stock ETFs, according to Korea Exchange and ETF Check data on July 17. From June 16 to July 15, 개인 (retail) net purchases of seven SK Hynix 2x single-stock ETFs totaled 4.2386 tln won and of seven Samsung 2x single-stock ETFs 1.6119 tln won. Foreign investors also net-bought SK Hynix and Samsung leveraged ETFs of 859.5 bln won and 724.2 bln won, respectively. Institutional investors largely trimmed positions, net-selling SK Hynix-related products 5.1713 tln won and Samsung-related products 2.2671 tln won. Across 16 single-stock ETFs (leveraged and inverse) total net inflows were 7.3364 tln won in the period; largest inflows were KODEX SK Hynix 2x single-stock ETF 3.4472 tln won, KODEX Samsung 2x single-stock ETF 1.5083 tln won and TIGER SK Hynix 2x single-stock ETF 1.4271 tln won.
