Iraq’s state oil marketer SOMO has launched a spot tender to buy diesel for Aug–Sep delivery, its first diesel purchase since January 2025, according to a document. SOMO plans to buy 127,500 tonnes (about 949,875 barrels) of 2,500ppm diesel; the first 40,000 tonnes are to load by Aug. 1. The tender closes on July 22 and bids must remain valid for 20 days. Two trade sources said SOMO had sought in January to sell 1,000ppm diesel for Feb–Apr loading from Khor Al Zubair or Umm Qasr.
