Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei said on the 20th Iran will not allow the
Strait of Hormuz to be maliciously exploited in ways that threaten its security
and national interests. He said Iran, as a littoral state, has been coordinating
with Oman to take necessary measures and set up mechanisms to protect its
interests and sovereignty. Responding to a US strike on the under‑construction
Darkhovin nuclear site on the 19th, Baghaei said IAEA silence and neglect will
not increase Iran’s trust in the agency and called for international
condemnation of the US attack, noting the facility had previously been under
IAEA supervision.
