CK Asset Holdings (01113.HK) says occupancy at a 41-storey Hong Kong office tower, long vacant since its 2024 completion, has more than doubled since the start of the year to about 60%, people familiar with the matter said. The pickup, led by financial firms upgrading and expanding space, signals a broader recovery in Hong Kong's office market. CK Asset expects occupancy to reach at least 75% by year-end, the people said. JLL data show Central prime office rents rose 7.3% in 1H — the biggest half-year gain in 15 years — and vacancy fell from 10.9% at end-2025 to 8.8%.

BHP and the Combined Ports Unions representing workers at Port Hedland, Western Australia, said on Tuesday talks had made progress but no final agreement was reached. The unions said negotiations will continue on July 28; the progress reduces the likelihood of fresh strike action before then.
