As of the 02:30 close, SHFE gold main contract rose 1.36% to 891 yuan/gram, SHFE silver main contract rose 3.01% to 14,421 yuan/kg, and SC crude main contract rose 3.15% to 547 yuan/barrel.

Pakistan has asked US Treasury Secretary Bessent for a $10 billion bilateral exchange-rate stabilization fund, people familiar with the request said. The facility would run for up to five years and, if approved, would boost Pakistan’s reserves, ease pressure on the Pakistani rupee and reduce reliance on multilateral financing. The request follows Islamabad’s role in brokering Iran war-related talks, which raised hopes of economic concessions from Washington and other partners. Pakistan would implement tighter fiscal and monetary measures under an IMF program as part of the arrangement.
