US Defense Secretary Hegseth said US military operations against Iran have cost
about $37.5 billion to date, up from the Pentagon’s May estimate of $29 billion.
He attributed the increase to operational spending and equipment attrition. The
Pentagon is seeking the $67 billion foreign-defense funding package proposed by
the Trump administration, including $21 billion to accelerate procurement of
high-end missiles and munitions, $2 billion to replace combat losses or damaged
equipment, and $11.6 billion for drones, satellites and other advanced
technologies. This is the latest official estimate of the Iran conflict’s costs.
