Japan's Sapporo District Meteorological Observatory said at about 11:07 local time on the 22nd a very small eruption occurred at crater 62-2 on Mount Tokachi in the Daisetsuzan range, sending a black ash plume about 200 metres high. The first eruption at Mount Tokachi since 2004 produced roughly 45 seconds of volcanic tremor and an observed air-pressure shock.
