Shanghai exports of servers, optical transceivers, integrated circuits,
industrial transformers and energy-storage batteries rose rapidly in 1H, making
the AI compute supply chain a major export growth driver, Shanghai customs
deputy director Li Jirong said. He described the surge as structural and
sustained, driven by iteration in leading industries such as ICs and AI. Unlike
steadier traditional trade categories, the AI chain’s pull spans upstream
energy-storage and power equipment, midstream ICs and SSDs, and downstream
computer servers, linking the city’s high-end electronics export chain and
producing cross-category gains.
