China says France's new 'anti-ultrafast fashion' law imposes discriminatory restrictions on China-funded cross-border e-commerce platforms, legislatively distorting fair competition and prompting serious concern. China says the law uses purported 'environmental' and 'sustainability' standards as a pretext for exclusionary measures, may breach WTO non‑discrimination rules, constitutes a trade barrier against China and risks harming Chinese firms' legitimate rights and French consumers.

The National Energy Administration said in a July 21 report that China’s crude output reached a record 216 mln tonnes in 2025 and natural gas production exceeded 100 bcm for the ninth consecutive year, taking oil-and-gas output equivalent to a record 420 mln tonnes. The agency said domestic supply capacity has significantly improved and the sector has entered a new phase of simultaneous scale and efficiency gains alongside greener development.
