EIA: US crude inventories for week to July 17 rose 2.01 mln bbl; consensus expected a 1.052 mln bbl draw; prior week was a 1.692 mln bbl draw.

CNPC said ethylene production rose 21% YoY in 1H to a record high, strengthening domestic chemical market supply and underpinning petrochemical industry supply‑chain security.

An Iranian army spokesman said on Tuesday Tehran has drawn up comprehensive defence and operational plans to counter any enemy attempt to invade Iranian territory. He said Iran will not allow foreign forces to establish a foothold and that contingency plans cover sparsely populated areas, including certain islands and coastal zones where US forces might try to infiltrate. He warned any area used by an enemy to attack Iran — even territory temporarily held by hostile forces — would be targeted.
