NDRC and the National Energy Administration issued a Renewable Energy Development plan for the 15th Five-Year Plan period, targeting roughly 100 GW of new offshore wind construction starts and cumulative offshore wind capacity above 100 GW by 2030. The plan calls for coordinating hydropower development with ecological protection and other water uses (flood control, water supply, irrigation, navigation) and targets conventional hydropower capacity of about 410 GW by 2030. It prioritises central, eastern and southern regions to promote multi-scenario, diversified development and spatially intensive compound use of distributed new energy, aiming for over 300 GW of distributed capacity additions during the 15th Five-Year period.

Hang Seng Index futures opened the day session up 0.50% at 25,041, trading a 148-point premium to the cash Hang Seng Index.
