China’s Central Meteorological Observatory says a tropical depression east of the Philippines is expected to develop into Typhoon No.12 within 24 hours. It is forecast to move into the northeastern South China Sea in the early hours of July 25 and to make landfall between Zhuhai (Guangdong) and Zhangpu (Fujian) from the night of July 25 to the morning of July 26, with landfall intensity forecast at typhoon strength (force 12–13).
