Former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett on July 22 condemned a US‑Saudi nuclear cooperation deal, saying Washington and Riyadh bypassed Israel and warning the pact could threaten Israeli security. Bennett said if uranium enrichment occurs in Saudi territory it may trigger a Middle East nuclear arms race and lead to loss of Israeli control over its own fate, calling the outcome a strategic failure. Saudi Arabia’s energy ministry said it has signed an agreement with the US on peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported the deal would allow US firms to build a uranium‑enrichment facility in Saudi Arabia if a joint US‑Saudi review deems it necessary.
