A French foreign ministry spokesman called Houthi strikes on Saudi tankers irresponsible and a serious escalation. The Houthis said on Thursday they had hit two Saudi tankers as part of a maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia, a move they say risks creating a second global oil bottleneck as the Strait of Hormuz is all but closed.

Hyundai Motor said Q2 operating profit for the three months to June 30 was KRW 2.85 tln (USD 1.9 bln), down about 21% YoY and below analysts’ KRW 3.1 tln forecast.
