The U.S. House passed the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 216-212, sending a bill that would authorize roughly $1.15 trillion to the Senate. The bill would expand U.S. defense production capacity and raise pay for all active-duty service members. It would authorize R&D funding for multiple aircraft programs, including a next-generation fighter, the B-21 Raider bomber, P-8 maritime patrol aircraft, F-35s, and Chinook and Black Hawk helicopters. It would also fund construction and support for the fourth Columbia-class SSBN, two Virginia-class submarines and two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, and would codify several Trump administration executive orders into statute.
