Trump said on social media that a year ago the US carried out strong strikes against the Houthis after they attacked ships and disrupted shipping and trade. He said the Houthis had largely behaved responsibly since, including during US-Iran tensions, but resumed actions last night when they fired on two Saudi vessels. He warned that if they strike again the US will hold Iran responsible because the Houthis are Iranian proxies and/or affiliated forces, and that the US would carry out significant military strikes on Iran and would also target the Houthis.
