China’s Agriculture Ministry said summer grain output reached 301.49 billion jin
(≈150.7 mln tonnes), the first time it has exceeded 300 billion jin, despite
widespread late sowing and multiple harvest-period rains. Summer oilseed harvest
was also strong. In 1H national pork, beef, mutton and poultry production
totaled 50.5 mln tonnes, up 4.3% YoY; aquatic product output was 35.12 mln
tonnes, up 4.4% YoY. Vegetable and fruit supplies remained stable. Measures to
curb pig capacity are beginning to show: breeding sow stock fell to 37.8 mln
head, returning to a green, reasonable range.
