By midday close, China's main futures contracts were mixed: palladium fell nearly 6%, platinum dropped over 4%, Shanghai silver fell nearly 4%; Shanghai gold, polysilicon, live hogs and eggs were down more than 2%. SC crude rose over 4%, rapeseed meal gained nearly 4%, ethylene glycol (EG) climbed over 3% and rapeseed oil rose more than 2%.

On Thursday the US House passed a War Powers resolution calling on President Trump to halt military action against Iran, 214-208, with four Republicans joining Democrats. Hours later the Senate defeated its version of the War Powers measure in a 49-47 procedural vote; Maine Republican Susan Collins voted with Democrats to advance the measure, while Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman voted with Republicans against it, and four Republican senators did not vote. The split votes reflect rising congressional frustration over the conflict.
