The Baltic Dry Index rose for a third session, up 18 points (0.66%) to 2,743 — a
one-week high and the strongest level since July 17 — but declined 0.3% on the
week. Capesize (BCI) led gains, up 87 points (2.1%) to 4,285, highest since July
16 and +4.6% weekly; capesize average daily earnings rose $788 to $35,357.
Panamax (BPI) fell 40 points (2%) to 2,024, near three-month lows and down about
10% on the week; panamax daily earnings dropped $361 to $18,213. Supramax (BSI)
eased 8 points (0.5%) to 1,694, lowest since July 9 and -4.3% weekly. Handysize
(BHSI) slipped 1 point to 905.
