U.S. President Trump will attend next year's White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Two small U.S. companies filed suit Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, alleging President Trump and U.S. officials illegally invoked Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 to impose the president's latest global tariffs, which took effect Friday. The plaintiffs say the administration used Section 301 to replace an earlier legal authority that the U.S. Supreme Court had struck down.

U.S. President Trump said the EU has imposed discriminatory fines on American tech companies, citing Apple $15bln, Meta $3bln, Amazon $2.5bln and a new $1bln penalty on Google that he said brings Google’s total to over $18bln. He said the administration will immediately open a Section 301 investigation into the EU’s treatment of U.S. firms, seek revocation of the fines and expects to impose substantial tariffs on EU goods in short order.
