A wildfire in the Gironde department in southwest France has burned about 42,000 hectares and prompted the evacuation of roughly 220,000 people, the Gironde prefecture said on July 26. More than 6,000 evacuees were housed overnight at an evacuation center at Bordeaux's exhibition centre.

Ukrainian Air Force says Russian forces are launching ballistic-missile strikes on Kyiv.

Zelenskiy said Ukraine’s long-range strikes in the Caspian Sea hit vessels transporting Iranian military cargo and a military ship. He also said strikes hit a factory in Kirov Oblast that supplies components for Russian attacks on Ukraine, about 1,200 km from the Ukrainian border, as well as a refinery in Tyumen Oblast, a logistics facility in Yekaterinburg and a fuel depot in Rostov-on-Don.
