SoftBank Group's $40 billion bridge loan to fund its OpenAI investment has attracted 21 new lenders in a wider syndication, sources said. The new lenders took about $7 billion of the facility; First Abu Dhabi Bank, GIC and Standard Chartered each subscribed close to $1 billion. The remainder was allocated to banks in Europe, Japan and Taiwan. Around $33 billion of the bridge remains held by underwriters and senior lenders but could be further syndicated.
