Approved by the State Council, the National Health Commission, National Disease
Control Bureau, NDRC, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural
Affairs, CUSTOMS and National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine
jointly issued the 15th Five-Year Plan for Disease Prevention and Control. The
plan makes prevention and control of major infectious diseases a priority,
adopts a multi-disease prevention approach and sets six core tasks:
strengthening control of respiratory infections, vector-borne diseases,
blood-borne and sexually transmitted infections, zoonoses, vaccine-preventable
diseases and other infections. The plan also includes dedicated action
programmes for major infectious-disease prevention.
