On July 21, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Minister Ni Hong met
European Commission energy and housing commissioner Dan Jørgensen to discuss
cooperation on housing construction and building energy efficiency. Ni said
China is systematically advancing “good houses” across five areas—standards,
design, materials, construction and operations—to deliver safer, more
comfortable, green and smart housing. She said China and the EU already have a
cooperation foundation in urban sustainable development and that China is
willing to establish multi-level exchange mechanisms with the EU to share
policy, technology and industrial experience and to implement leaders’ consensus
on strengthening communication, mutual trust and deeper cooperation.
