South Korea's Financial Services Commission chair Lee Eog-weon said regulators will consider further steps to curb demand for recently launched single-stock leveraged ETFs. He will assess the impact of a new rule raising the minimum cash margin for investing in these ETFs to KRW30 million (about $20,400), effective this Friday; the government moved the implementation forward by several weeks to stabilize markets and protect investors. Lee said if demand does not sufficiently cool, authorities will conduct an early review and stand ready to impose additional measures, including possible quantity limits capping individual holdings of these ETFs at 20% of a personal financial portfolio.
