Shanghai, July 26 — Shanghai is accelerating purchases of resale homes for guaranteed rental housing. Since a February pilot launch, Xuhui, Pudong and Jing’an have acquired 551 resale units as of July 25; 16 households have completed relocation to new homes. Five additional central districts — Huangpu, Changning, Hongkou, Putuo and Yangpu — expanded the program in May to facilitate resident relocation, boost turnover of existing housing stock and speed provision of guaranteed rental housing in central Shanghai.
