On July 29 local time the Ukrainian Air Force said an F-16 crashed on the
frontline after losing contact while on a mission to intercept an enemy aerial
target. Initial reports said an abnormal situation occurred on board and the
pilot was forced to eject. The pilot is reported in a safe condition, evacuated
and taken to a medical facility for checks. Authorities have opened an
investigation; no ground casualties or property damage were reported.
