Preliminary data from the Saudi General Authority for Statistics showed Q2 GDP
fell 4.8% YoY, after 3.0% growth in Q1. The decline was driven by a 24.7% YoY
slump in the oil sector — which grew 2.9% in Q1 — as the US‑Iran war disrupted
oil exports. Non-oil activity slowed to 0.6% YoY from 2.9% in the prior quarter.
Saudi authorities are prioritizing the non‑oil sector in efforts to rebalance
the economy.
