The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reported Jan–Jun 2026 software-sector data. 1H software business revenue was 7.72 tln yuan, up 9.5% YoY; total software-industry profit was 899.9 bln yuan, up 1.0% YoY. Software exports were $33.79 bln, up 11.4% YoY. Software product revenue rose 6.9% YoY to 1.68 tln yuan, representing 21.7% of industry revenue; basic software revenue was 104.7 bln yuan (+10.6% YoY) and industrial software revenue was 154.7 bln yuan (+8.2% YoY).

Four trade and industry sources said QatarEnergy has purchased 33 spot US LNG cargoes this year for shipment to Asia after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and Qatar declared force majeure on LNG exports. The volume far exceeds last year’s four cargoes and is intended to limit disruption to key customers and preserve Qatar’s reputation as a reliable global gas supplier. Sources said QatarEnergy invoked force majeure to relieve contractual obligations but still sought to maintain deliveries to some clients.

Shanghai issued its 15th Five-Year Health Development Plan, prioritizing expanded fertility support and maternal-child services. Measures include a childcare subsidy scheme, strengthened maternity leave, early-pregnancy care, and a birth-defect prevention capacity building plan. The city will develop integrated medical-education services, expand and standardize maternal and child facilities, and improve childcare for children under three. Maternity insurance benefits will be optimized and coverage standards adjusted to raise maternity medical expense protection, aiming for zero personal co-payments for prenatal checks and inpatient deliveries within policy scope, and to increase coverage for pain-relief childbirth and assisted reproductive technology (ART) costs.
