At a July 30 1H 2026 briefing, the CHINA STATE PLANNER stressed ensuring
delivery of annual targets and urged accelerating construction of a modern
industrial system, using regionally tailored, category-specific measures to
scale emerging and future industries. It called for deeper implementation of the
"East Data West Computing" project — coordinating spatial layout and orderly
construction of computing facilities — faster deployment of AI benchmark
applications to accelerate adoption in manufacturing, agriculture and energy,
and accelerated progress on AI legislation. The agency also pushed
higher-quality, more efficient services and directed key industries to raise
quality while cutting costs and carbon.
