Kioxia said it expects Jul–Sep net profit of ¥1.27 tln ($7.9bn), up 31-fold from
¥40.6bn a year earlier but below analysts’ ¥1.35 tln consensus. The company
attributed strength to robust AI data‑center demand and US tech firms expanding
capacity, which lifted NAND flash prices and shipments in Apr–Jun; average
selling prices roughly doubled YoY. Apr–Jun results: net profit ¥842.2bn (up
46-fold YoY), operating profit ¥1.27 tln (up 28-fold), revenue ¥1.76 tln (up
fivefold). Kioxia shares are down more than 60% from the June 22 record high
amid a broader selloff in AI‑linked names and investor concern about
overinvestment in tech infrastructure.
