Qiushi's Aug. 1 issue published an article by Xi Jinping urging acceleration of
Healthy China construction, calling it a systemic project and directing
authorities to prioritize initiatives with broad public impact. He instructed
strengthening the public health system, deepening social co‑governance and
integration of prevention and treatment, and bolstering infectious-disease
prevention and control, surveillance and early warning, clinical care, emergency
response, material supply and regulatory oversight. He called for building a
high-quality, efficient medical service system, implementing a primary-care
strengthening program, promoting integration of traditional Chinese and Western
medicine, and expanding rehabilitation, nursing and palliative-care services. He
also urged promoting healthy lifestyles and raising national health literacy.
