The Hill reported that despite growing Republican unease about a widening war and its impact on energy prices, Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked a motion to discharge a Senate Foreign Relations Committee measure to the floor that would have required Trump to withdraw U.S. forces from hostilities with Iran without congressional authorization. The motion was defeated 49-50. Thursday's vote was the Senate's 13th on Iran war-powers measures; Republicans had previously blocked 11 attempts to halt the hostilities.

Iraq government spokesman said the government has not authorized any attacks from Iraqi territory against specific locations or groups, and that Iraq has not and will not allow its territory to be used as a launchpad for attacks on neighboring countries.
