Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said he spoke by phone with the UAE president to discuss Emirati support in Europe, particularly the Black Sea, focusing on food security, maritime-route safety and measures to strengthen Ukraine’s life‑protection capabilities. They also reviewed multiple bilateral cooperation projects and are working to ensure those projects are implemented.

Aug 1 — The Office of the National Disaster Reduction and Relief Commission and the Ministry of Emergency Management sent teams to Jilin and Heilongjiang to assess recent rain- and flood-related damage and assist local rescue operations. In coordination with the State Grain and Material Reserves Administration, they allocated 11,000 central relief items — blankets, bedding and household emergency kits — to support resettlement and aid for affected residents.
