Iran's foreign ministry said on Aug. 1 it is determined to continue a path of
resistance and steadfastness until the "enemy's" malice is eradicated. It
accused the United States of breaching provisions of the June 18 US‑Iran
memorandum by enforcing a maritime blockade of Iranian ports and merchant
shipping, launching attacks across Iran, and stepping up economic pressure and
illegal threats. The statement said defensive strikes by Iran's armed forces
remain ongoing at full strength. It added that the US and some regional allies
used the July 8 three‑vessel "accidents" as a pretext to attack Iran and to
violate Iranian sovereignty in the Strait of Hormuz.
