U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said in a Fox News interview this weekend that
under President Trump Iran is facing a fundamentally different U.S. president
and can no longer expect to negotiate without consequences. Rubio said Iran "has
never faced a U.S. president like President Trump — a man who actually takes
action," and accused Tehran of relying for decades on global leniency to lie,
renege on agreements and deceive negotiators. The White House said that after
alleged Iranian attacks on commercial shipping and U.S. forces following a
memorandum of understanding, Iran "will continue to pay" until it returns to
talks in a way President Trump deems "meaningful."
