Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has restarted issuance of 5-year large-denomination certificates of deposit (CDs). Since July, Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, China Construction Bank and ICBC have each issued 5-year large CDs. Postal Savings Bank researcher Lou Feipeng says 5-year large CDs currently offer allocation value for low-risk investors. Large-denomination CDs support transfer and pledge, giving them better liquidity than ordinary time deposits.
