South Korean battery materials firm EcoPro said on the 4th consolidated Q2 operating profit was KRW 32.9 bln, up 102.7% YoY. Revenue fell 11.9% YoY to KRW 820.8 bln. Net profit swung to KRW 49.2 bln. Rising metal prices and FX effects boosted sales in its resource-recycling division and lifted operating profit in its lithium business, supporting overall results.

Hainan Provincial Disaster Prevention and Relief Committee has launched a level-4 flood and wind emergency response. Meteorological forecasts say a monsoon trough will bring heavy rain from the night of the 4th through daytime of the 5th. Parts of Ledong, Sanya, Baoting, Dongfang, Wuzhishan, Lingshui and Changjiang are expected to receive 80–150 mm; parts of Wanning, Qiongzhong, Danzhou, Baisha, Lingao, Tunchang, Haikou and Wenchang 50–80 mm.
