Shanghai nickel futures main contract plunged, down nearly 2,000 points intraday and reversing from a gain to a loss, last at 129,320 yuan/ton. The move followed news Weda Bay Nickel was approved for an additional 25.0 mln wet-tonne RKAB nickel-ore quota, bringing WBN's total 2026 RKAB allocation to about 37.0 mln wet tonnes including approvals in 1H.
