On Aug 7, Unitree Technology chairman, general manager and CTO Wang Xingxing said in an online roadshow that electronic-skin applications are tied to progress in embodied-AI large-model technology and will accelerate as humanoid robots become more integrated into human society.

China's National Energy Administration issued the '15th Five-Year' action plan for power safety production, directing stronger AI+ safety governance, high-precision fault prediction and equipment health-management methods, and integration of AI into smart safety tools. It calls for research on AI large-model-based safety production decision support. The plan mandates increased domestic R&D of critical power equipment, accelerated development of new protective materials, and a special program to tackle core component technologies to drive breakthroughs in power chips and ultra-high-voltage (UHV) components. It also pushes safety and quality-control technology innovation for power construction, the creation of an intelligent project supervision system, and enhanced off-site monitoring and quality supervision of major power projects using AI and big data.

Market sources said the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) issued an administrative directive banning exports of copper concentrates and cobalt concentrates. HUAYOU NICKEL BRAND said the measure targets primary concentrates; its DRC output is crude cobalt hydroxide (an intermediate cobalt product) and electrolytic cathode copper, not concentrates, and it said Chinese firms are likely in similar positions.
