Japan's finance minister KATAYAMA said Tokyo and Washington have been in close contact and both will not hesitate to take intervention measures if necessary.

Guangdong provincial SASAC said provincially owned enterprises had total assets of RMB 2.99 tln at end-June, up 6.2% YoY; Jan–Jun cumulative operating revenue was RMB 372.65 bln, up 7% YoY; total profit was RMB 25.30 bln, up 11.8% YoY. China's State Council approved the People's Bank of China and Bank Negara Malaysia's renewal of a bilateral local-currency swap, expanding the facility from CNY180 bln/MYR110 bln to CNY220 bln/MYR130 bln. The agreement runs five years and is extendable by mutual consent. Authorities said the move is intended to deepen monetary and financial cooperation, expand use of local currencies in China-Malaysia trade and investment, and support financial market stability.
