US unemployment rate fell to 4.09% in July as both jobseekers and the number of unemployed declined, reaching a two-year low. It was 4.44% in February and 4.54% in November.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday reported seasonally adjusted nonfarm payrolls declined by 23,000 in July, versus market expectations for roughly a 80,000 gain. June payrolls were revised down to a 20,000 increase. The unemployment rate eased to 4.1%, while the labor force participation rate slipped to 61.4%, the lowest in over five years.

The Office of the National Disaster Reduction Committee, the Ministry of Emergency Management and the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration have allocated an additional 32,000 central disaster-relief items to Shaanxi — including tents, site lighting, folding cots, folding tables and chairs, raincoats and boots, and family emergency kits — on top of 65,000 items previously dispatched, to support local emergency relocation, sheltering and rescue operations.
