US reports on July 7 say SpaceX founder Elon Musk explicitly refused to allow the Ukrainian military to use SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet system to strike targets inside Russia. US outlets cited two aides to ex-Ukrainian defense minister Fedorov saying Fedorov had pushed for Starlink strikes and privately contacted Musk but was turned down. Sources say Musk has not agreed, reportedly citing concern the crisis could escalate further.

U.S. Treasury: in the latest two-week reporting period, investment funds bought $31.104 bln of 7-year Treasuries due July 31, 2033, down from $31.559 bln in the prior period. Foreign investors bought $5.242 bln of the same issue, versus $5.864 bln previously.
